Local History
The Bonner Springs City Library has many resources for local history research, including yearbooks, newspapers, a cemetery index and local obituaries, books on Kansas history, and genealogy resources. We also have vertical files, maps, and archival collections of photographs and documents which we have recently begun arranging, describing, and digitizing. We will continue adding more content to this site as it becomes available. You can view some previously digitized photographs from our collections at Recollections: KS. The local history resources at the Bonner Springs Library may be viewed by visiting the Kansas Room at the library. Some material may only be viewed upon request.
The Bonner Springs Library welcomes donations of local history material such as photographs, maps, yearbooks, historical documents, and records relating to local businesses and organizations. Please contact us at 913-441-2665 or bonnerlibraryevents@gmail.com for donation inquiries.
